We don't always get to keep in touch with the folks that we love as we'd like to.
Here's the latest with what is happening in the lives of John, Jeanne, Jake and Asa.

January Artwork
Asa painted a picture of a colorful summer day with fingerpaints.
GrandDad and I love your latest artwork! You both obviously inherited bucketloads of your Great-Grandmother Smith's artistic talent!
Jake, your purple & blue lady has Grammie written all over it! Very Picasso-ish! You are obviously in your blue period.... Did you know that Picasso had one too? (I'm sure you do know; in fact, I think you spoke of it on our Baltimore Museum of Art (BMA) and National Gallery of Art visits together a few months ago.
Asa, your aqua and turquoise period cries out for a trip to the beach for inspiration! The sky over our ocean today is exactly the same color blue as the sky you painted! We're finally home in Florida--waiting for your visit!
Grammie, the Technical Editor, must add to her last comment that you both also obviously inherited TRAINLOADS of you Mom's artistic talent in addition to the BUCKETLOADS you received from your Great-Grandmother Smith.
A true artist's eye like you two and your Mom have is a rare gift. It gives you a very special way of viewing the world and sharing your view with others! We love the artistic way your Mom has designed this blog, and shares your life and art with us!
I love to think of you three painting and mixed-media-ing away away in the sunny art studio you boys and your Dad created for your Mom up atop the mill!
Grammie is not much in the painting and drawing department, but I love creating pictures with words...Writing is my not-so-mixed media! I do love exploring and collecting different kinds of art, and I like to think of our very extended family circle as one of GrandDad's and my best artisic treasures and projects.
We especially treasure the time we have been able to spend with our six wonderful grandchildren. We feel so lucky that we retired in time to make so many memories with you two, and with Jordan, Nick, Justin & Emily.
I like to think we have some creative impact on all six of your lives...like bringing the color PURPLE, and a love of stories, books, museums, cars, trains, and travel (and SHOPPING) into your lives!
You know what?! I just realized that the way you live your life is an artform! That way, we all geat to be artists!
